Trick ski Mounting Instructions

You have just purchased what we feel is the finest trick ski to have ever been made available to the tournament competitor.

Here are a few tips to help your new relationship with your trick ski be a long and happy one.

Boot Placement

  • Find your inside ankle bone in your front boot.
  • This can only be done with your foot in the binding.
  • Mark this spot down on the binding plate.
  • This is your ANKLE centerline.
  • Find the centerline of your ski.
  • For 40”-42” skis put your ANKLE centerline .25” forward of the ski centerline.
  • For 43”-45” put your ANKLE centerline.375” forward of the ski centerline.

Mounting the HC 454

  • Please use a 3/32”drill bit to drill pilot holes 1/4” deep. Do not drill any deeper.
  • You must be sure to go through the aluminum screw retention plate just under the top-skin of the ski.
  • Please use only provided screws.
  • Do not over tighten.

Mounting the Custom X

  • Use only the machine screws and washers provided.
  • Do not over tighten.

Mounting the rear toe on the HC 454 and Custom X

  • Rear toe placement is according to personal preference.
  • Follow the same instructions for drilling pilot holes for the front boot on the 454 HC.

Please use only provided screws.

  • Do not over tighten.
  • We recommend the use of our ITP (Invert trick plate)
  • If you are planning to do inverted tricks this new plate can help reduce the chance of heel dents.

Heel dents will not be covered under our warranty policy

WARNING – Due to the manufacturing process of the graphics (top & bottom) they may fade and or discolor. D3 recommends that the ski is always kept in a ski case when not in use.
